BGR Energy Planning Rs 600 Cr IPO

MUMBAI: BGR Energy Systems Ltd plans to enter the capital market with a Rs 600 crore initial public offering.

The Chennai-based company supplies a range of equipment, systems and services to the power and process industries. It executes power projects, contracts and provides turnkey balance of plant services for the power industry.

The company is now focusing on engineering, procurement and construction services for power plants. It also operates an infrastructure business intended to provide advanced technology services in complex infrastructure projects.

The company was incorporated as a joint venture between GEA Energetechnik, Germany and the promoter, BG Raghupathy, who in 1993 became the sole shareholder.
